He posted on his official site: “The album is very diverse, and reflects the fact that I don’t fit comfortably in any one genre. My critics see that as a problem, but I don’t…it’s simply the way things are”. And he added: “I’ve never really fit into any one clique. That’s why the album is called ‘The Outsider’. In some ways it’s a risky record. It’s going to turn some people off. And I think I’ll lose some fans.”
Good luck DJ Shadow

One of the most talented bands, Arcade Fire announced that they themselves are going to produce their new album. After the huge success of Funeral, Arcade Fire get in a unsual studio for recording. The new album is not titled yet, and their new studio is a church in Montreal (birth city of the band) which is transformed to a studio.
The mastermind of the group Win Butler announced in the band’s official site:
“After trying to decide if we should work with any producers we kind of realized that we already know how we want things to sound so we should just run after that sound as far as we can and not rely on someone else to guide the good ship Arcade Fire…at least for now.”

He added: “We have been producing the record ourselves and working (with) two great engineers Scott Colburn..and Marcus Dravs…they have been been kind of trading off in two or three week shifts. We finished all the string section stuff with Sarah (Neufeld) and Owen (Pallett - aka Final Fantasy) which was as inspiring as ever..It was an intense three days of recording all day now Owen is off to Europe on tour with Final Fantasy.”

Pink Floyd and the whole music community feel sad for the loss of Syd Barrett. David Gilmour and Roger Waters paid tribute to the madcap genious. According to NME.com David said:
“We are very sad to say that Roger Keith Barrett - Syd - has passed away” He added: “Do find time today to play some of Syd’s songs and to remember him as the madcap genius who made us all smile with his wonderfully eccentric songs about bikes, gnomes and scarecrows. His career was painfully short, yet he touched more people than he could ever know.”
Besides Roger Waters said:”It’s very sad. Syd was a lovely guy and a unique talent. He leaves behind a body of work that is both very touching and very deep and which will shine on forever.” David Bowie and Graham Coxon also paid a tribute to the important guitarist, composer, singer and founder of Pink Floyd
Bye bye Syd

Syd Barrett died on 7 July! Yesterday his brother Allan spread the terrible new! Syd had major diabetes problems and his death was caused due to an abnormality because of the diabetes. Other sources say that it was a cancer that caused his death.. Allan says that he died in peace!
Syd Barrett was one of the founders of Pink Floyd. His last song for Floyd was the “Jugband Blues”, from the album A saucerfull of secrets!
I feel strange. He is the first Floyd that died! Hope that the other will have a reunion to honor him!
